But Keane singled out the Brazilian for criticism on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet.

Casemiro was skinned by Michael Olise for the opener and was left flat on his back.

The Brazilian played at a centre-half and was dribbled past on eight occasions throughout the match.

This marks the highest number of times a player has been beaten in a single Premier League game this season.

And Keane was quick to snub the United star as he said: “Of all the players at Manchester United, including the reserves and youth team.

“If there was one player I wouldn’t play at centre-half against Crystal Palace, he’d be the one I wouldn’t play. Aaron Wan-Bissaka or someone else!

“Crystal Palace were really at it [against Manchester United] and everyone would look at it and think Palace away on a Monday night is going to be a tough night and Casemiro was isolated.

“He was isolated by his own fault, because he wasn’t getting people around him, and you have to take responsibility for that.

“But if we’re talking about it being a team game, structure-this and structure-that, playing between the lines.

“That’s all well and good but when you’re up against it, you need your teammates around you. There’s the whole idea of playing in a team.”

This follows after Jamie Carragher said it was time the Brazil captain “called it a day” on his glittering career on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

The Liverpool legend suggested the Brazil-man makes a move to the MLS or the Saudi league as he is, in his view, no longer a top-level midfielder.

Casemiro was one of Erik ten Hag‘s first statement signing and joined from Real Madrid for £70million in 2022.

He is one of United’s top earners and is believed to be on around £350,000-a-week.

The midfielder brought a wealth of experience with him to United, having won five Champions League titles with Madrid and three Spanish leagues.

Getting rid of him could prove tricky, given that he is on massive wages and still has two years left on his deal, with United still having the option to extend his contract by another year.
