Man City snap up US wonderkid Cavan Sullivan, 14, in £4million transfer – but he won’t play for FOUR YEARS

US STARLET Cavan Sullivan will join Manchester City in 2027 when he turns 18.

Philadelphia Union confirmed on Thursday that they have signed the 14-year-old attacking midfielder to the largest homegrown contract in MLS history.

So he will spend the next few years at home before linking up with the City Football Group – and says his dream is to play for the Etihad giants.

Reports in the States say the deal with City could be worth around £4million for the Union.

Sullivan said: “The collaboration between the Union and the City Group did it for me.

“I always watch Man City. They’re like every kid’s dream team. I sat with my family and my agents and we decided that it was the best plan.”

If he plays for Philadelphia before the end of July, he will become the youngest player in the history of the American league.

Meanwhile City could listen to offers this summer for Brazilian full-back Yan Couto – who has impressed on loan with their sister club Girona.

Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus and several Prem clubs are watching the full-back who is rated in the £40m bracket.

City are also likely to cash in on defender Issa Kabore who has spent the current campaign playing in the top flight with Luton.

And Joao Cancelo looks set to leave permanently too.

The full-back has been on loan at Barcelona this season after being frozen out by Pep Guardiola.

But reports in Spain claim the Catalan club have no intention of bringing Cancelo back for a second season.

It comes after the Portugal star blasted City for being “ungrateful”, saying: “Lies were told. I was never a bad companion for them and you can ask either (Nathan) Ake or Rico (Lewis).

“I don’t have any superiority or inferiority complex towards them.

“I think Manchester City were a bit ungrateful to me when they said that because I was a very important player in the years I was there. I never failed in my commitment to the club, to the fans. I always gave everything.”
