Samuel Tetteh of WAFA Former WAFA star Samuel Tetteh says the club fails to replicate its impressive form at home in their away games in the Ghana Premier League due to the quality of pitches and poor officiating.WAFA are unbeaten at home this season but have only managed to win one game away from home, a 1-0 win over Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on matchday three.Samuel Tetteh who was a big star for the academy lads in the 2015/15 season made mention of this in response to the team’s poor away form in the ongoing campaign. It is not like WAFA cant win games when we go away. Some of the pitches, lets be honest, do not favour us, and the officiating was always terrible he told Citi TV.When you travel away, you have to play against the team and the referee. It was that terrible. But at home, we always knew that even if the referee wasnt that great, we always stood a chance because we could play our football on our good pitch.,WAFA have made their home turf a fortress, handing some heavy defeats to some of the countrys biggest football clubs. They beat Sekondi Hasaacas 5-0 in 2016, thumped Hearts of Oak 5-0 in 2017 and thrashed Ashantigold 6-1 in 2020.The team also handed a 5-0 defeat to Liberty Professionals on matchday 11 in the ongoing season.WAFA currently lies fifth with 18th points after matchday 12 in the ongoing season.Samuel Tetteh currently plays on FC Polten in the Austrian Bundesliga on loan from Red Bull Salzburg.
