TWO-TIME Cheltenham champion Flooring Porter is in action today.
The eight-year old has quite the unique back-story however, as it looks to pick up a hat-trick of Stayers’ Hurdle wins.

Racehorses are often associated with extravagant, millionaire owners, but that’s certainly not the case for Flooring Porter.
And later today at Cheltenham, the gelding could make his owners very happy indeed.
Who owns Flooring Porter?
In 2018, a group of four men: Ned Fogarty, Kerril Creaven, Alan Sweeney, and his father, Tommy bought Flooring Porter for £4,300.
And just five years later, their horse is looking like a massive bargain.
The four-man syndicate emanate from Galway and Roscommon in Ireland, and they made their purchase on Facebook.
“Ned seen it on Facebook and we went up one Sunday. I think they had three horses up there,” Tommy said.
Coming up with a name was a matter of taking two concepts and merging into one, representing the concentration of interests between the quadrant.

Ned Fogarty does flooring for a living, while Alan Sweeney and Kerril Fogarty own the The Countryman pub in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.
Put one and one together, and you come up with gold, as the name Flooring Porter was born.
And since then, it’s been a dream.
Flooring Porter won the Stayers’ Hurdle in 2021, before repeating his success last year on St. Patrick’s Day of all days.
Today, it could be third time even more lucky for Porter and his four owners.
