Thomas Tuchel sends warning to Man Utd as terrifying stat lays bare how bad things could get for Ten Hag’s men
THOMAS TUCHEL warned Bayern Munich are coming to Old Trafford to play like Champions – as a terrifying stat shows how daunting the task facing Manchester United is.
The Red Devils must beat them to have any chance of qualifying from Champions League Group A and will hope that already-through Bayern might take their foot off the pedal.

However, it has been an astonishing six years and 39 games since Bayern last lost a Champions League group stage game.
That came in September 2017 in a 3-0 loss at Paris Saint-Germain.
And there is no chance of them easing up as they look to stretch that run to 40 games according to their boss, who wants a reaction after their first Bundesliga defeat of the season on Saturday by 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Tuchel said: “We can show a reaction on one of the biggest stages in global football.
“When you wear the Bayern Munich jersey, you behave like champions, there’s no other way. We have high expectations, even if we are always under pressure.
“United will give everything to get through. But we expect a top performance from us. I hope we can match United’s enthusiasm and energy, which I’m sure they’ll bring to the game.
“A game in Manchester is always a big game. It’s a big club that electrifies people. We’re preparing in the best possible way, and for the best possible United. They’re very good and difficult to play against. We hope we can help prevent them from performing at their best.”
Bayern’s only other defeats this season were to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup at the start of the season and to Saarbrucken in the German Cup.

However, there is a much more worrying stat that will send shivers down the spine of Erik ten Hag and his United side.
Ex-Chelsea academy ace Jamal Musiala, 20, is set to start for the first time since returning from injury.
And the German international, who represented England U21s previously, declared that he and his team-mates are out to defend their proud Champions League record.
Musiala said: “We always want to win and want to continue our unbeaten run in the Champions League.
“It’s an important game for us because we want to start another run before Christmas.
“We always try to control the game, that’s our style. We always create a lot of chances, but we certainly won’t underestimate them. They’re dangerous in attack and they’re certainly a team who are difficult to beat.”
Tuchel confirmed that Harry Kane will start against the club that also wanted him in the summer.
He said: “Every fan wants Harry to play in their team. We’re very proud we were able to sign Harry. He’s a great character and a great role model, a terrific player.
“He scores a lot of goals and will be very happy to play here tomorrow. It’s a great story that we were able to bring the England captain, your centre-forward, to Germany.”
Kane has scored 22 goals in 19 games for Bayern and the former Tottenham striker also has a career seven goals in 20 games against United.
