Pervis Estupinan & Luis Diaz feature in the best Dream Team XI of Game Week 32

GAME WEEK 32 was a high-scoring affair but no Dream Team gaffer outperformed Dean Jago.

The Manchester United fan racked up 152 points when all was said and done thanks to some inspired selections.

Let’s take a closer look at how he did it.

152 points!

Brighton registered back-to-back clean sheets this past week, starting off with an emphatic 6-0 win over a disjointed Wolves at the weekend before a last-gasp 1-0 win over Man United on Thursday night.

As a result, Jason Steele (£3m) was by far and away the best-performing goalkeeper with 16 points – he averages an impressive 4.5 points-per-game this season.

Similarly, Pervis Estupinan (£4.1m) reigned supreme among defenders with 18 points having also provided an assist on Saturday.

The Ecuadorian left-back features in just 0.6% of teams so that has to go down as a masterstroke by Dean at this late stage of the campaign.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.7m) has been on a tear of late and while his assist streak came to an end against Fulham, he more than compensated by claiming the Star Man award on top of a clean sheet.

Liverpool’s homegrown hero added 13 points to his tally in Game Week 32 to take his grand total to 145 – only Kieran Trippier (£5.4m) has more among defenders!

Lastly in defence, Nathan Ake (£5.1m) returned from injury in fine style by scoring Man City’s opening goal against West Ham in a 3-0 victory for a 13-point return.

A Dream Team gem in recent weeks

Bruno Fernandes (£6.9m) took full advantage of Kevin De Bruyne’s (£8.4m) absences to reclaim top spot among midfielders by virtue of an 11-point haul.

The Portuguese playmaker is in a league of his own when it comes to 7+ ratings, he’s earned 40 of them in 2022/23, seven more than his closest rival.

Arsenal’s title hopes may be dwindling but Martin Odegaard (£4.5m) continues to provide healthy returns.

The Gunners’ skipper enjoyed himself against a shambolic Chelsea outfit, bagging a brace and the Star Man award to bank 18 points in one fell swoop.

Jack Grealish (£5.1m) has been among the goal involvements since the World Cup and he kept that going in Game Week 32 with an assist against the Hammers.

Manchester City’s No10 also edged out his team-mates to claim the Star Man gong from that encounter – he earned 12 points from his two fixtures overall.

Dean is clearly a gaffer who stays up to date with injury news because he premeditated Luis Diaz’s (£5.1m) first starts since October to great avail.

Back among the points

The Colombian winger pouched 13 points thanks to Tottenham’s latest slow start (a generous phrase) before adding three more via 7+ rating at home to Fulham in midweek.

Dean may have employed some funky selections in defence and midfield but his front three was as mainstream as they come, with good reason.

Erling Haaland (£10.5m) is a no-brainer at this stage and the prolific poacher banked 16 points in a record-breaking week.

It’s ridiculous that 16 points from two games is statistically a below average return by Haaland’s standards – unbelievable.

Marcus Rashford (£7.3m) mustered just three points this past week but Mohamed Salah (£8.8m) registered 16 courtesy of goals against Spurs and Fulham – Liverpool are finishing the season in style after an underwhelming campaign overall.
