Richards said Kompany had to be held back while while Tevez tried punching himRex

City legend Kompany played alongside Tevez for four years, winning the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League title a year later.

But, according to Richards, there was one occasion when tensions between the pair boiled over.

The ex-pro turned pundit told the Filthyfellas podcast: “Tevez and Kompany had a fight.”

Richards went on to say that now Burnley boss Kompany had to be restrained.

Meanwhile, Tevez was aiming punches at the legendary City defender.

Richards continued: “It was weird though because we were holding Kompany back because when he goes he’s going.

But the Sky and BBC pundit said Kompany soaked up all of the hits with ease, suggesting it was the Belgian defender who came out on top.

When asked how many punches Tevez connected with, Richards said: “[A] couple. But the thing is, Kompany, he ate them.”

Despite their bust up, Kompany and Tevez enjoyed a successful period playing together for the club.

Both retired professionals have since gone into coaching after hanging up their boots.

Kompany won promotion to the Premier League with Burnley this season, while Tevez spent five months in charge of Argentinian side Rosario Central last year.
