Luis Rubiales detained on arrival at Madrid airport as former Spanish FA chief is transferred to police headquarters
FORMER Spanish FA President Luis Rubiales has been detained at a Madrid airport according to reports in Spain.
The 46-year-old had been on holiday in the Dominican Republic despite there being a Spanish warrant for his arrest.

The former chief is being investigated for alleged irregularities relating to contracts of the Spanish FA over the past five years.
According to Spanish outlet La Sexta, Rubiales was detained when his plane landed at Barajas Airport.
A crowd of journalists were eagerly awaiting his arrival at the arrivals gates but Rubiales did not come through them.
Instead he was taken away in a van of the Spanish civil guard for questioning.
Rubiales maintained his innocence prior to his arrest in an interview with La Sexta.
