Inter Milan has won the 2021/2022 Italian Cup after a hard won game with giants Juventus.
The final took place at the Stadio Olympico in Rome with full capacity. The two sides stretched themselves to extra time before the winner could be decided. This was after the regulation time ended 2-2.
Inter drew first blood in less than 10 minutes of play after Nicolo Barrela opened the scoring on the 6th minute. The first half ended with Juventus doing everything possible to equalize but to no avail.
The Bianconeris came into the second half with fierce attitude, they got their equalizer at the 50th minute through Alex Sandro. Inter could not settle before the second goal came in for Juventus to go into the lead with Dusan Vlahovic.
Inter Milan also had to fight from behind to get into the game. Hakan Calhanoglu saved them on the 80th minute from the spot. The Nerrazuris were awarded a penalty by the Referee.
The thirty minutes extra time was an extra motivation for Inter Milan as they came in better prepared. they were not ready for any penalty shoot out. Ivan Perisic became the hero of the night as he scored twice to earn Inter the much deserved win.
The Milan based giants now equalize City rivals AC Milan’s win of 14 titles. But Juventus lead the pack with 21 titles.
