Conor McGregor set to coach on upcoming series of The Ultimate Fighter as UFC megastar looks set for Octagon return
UFC megastar Conor McGregor is set to coach on the upcoming series of The Ultimate Fighter, according to reports.
The former UFC two-division world champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in the Trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021.

Now Irish MMA website SevereMMA.com are reporting that Conor McGregor will be coaching the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
The Dubliner recently posted on Instagram that he had been offered the opportunity to coach the upcoming season of the UFC show.
He captioned a post on Instagram that read: “I like it, full immersion is what is needed and now we have confirmed that is exactly what he will get.”
The Dublin outlet who produced ‘The Notorious’ documentary also say that their sources confirmed that McGregor’s Coach John Kavanagh will work alongside him on the production.
The Crumlin native previously coached ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ way back in 2015 against Urijah Faber.
Generally in most seasons of the UFC’s premier show the opposing coaches fight at the end of the season but that didn’t happen in 2015 as the pair were never matched to throw down.
But it’s likely McGregor’s opposing coach on the upcoming series will be his next opponent in the Octagon as like in the majority of TUF seasons.
The opposing coach is yet TBC for the 31st season of the show.
McGregor’s UFC rival Tony Ferguson who was the winner of season 13 of the series in 2011, claimed he had been offered to coach opposite the Dubliner just last week on Instagram.
SunSport just last month identified the American as the opponent for McGregor on his Octagon return.
The pair have long running beef, and never fought when both were in their prime in 2017.
McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather while Ferguson was interim lightweight champion at that time.

And that’s where the majority of the pair’s long running dislike stems from.
Ferguson and McGregor were previously under the same management company during that period, and a fight never materialised.
Despite the American’s efforts to make it happen, the Notorious went into pro-boxing to fight the legendary Mayweather for a bumper payday.
Ferguson is coming off five-straight losses, most recently against Nate Diaz at welterweight, and McGregor has dropped 3 of his last four.
