City Of Troy ridiculously short to win the Triple Crown as ‘best since Frankel’ limbers up for 2000 Guineas rout

CITY OF TROY is odds-on to win the 2000 Guineas and incredibly just 5-1 to win the Triple Crown.

Aidan O’Brien’s monstrous three-year-old has swept aside all challengers in his first three races and bookies are running for cover ahead of his Newmarket reappearance on Saturday.

Coolmore recently took the unusual step of releasing a video of one of City Of Troy’s workouts.

And trainer O’Brien appeared equal parts mesmerised and delighted by what he saw from this awe-inspiring son of Justify.

As such Coral make him just 4-6 to win the 2000 Guineas, the first Classic of the season.

And his odds could shorten near the off if the ground goes soft with 4-1 second-fav Rosallion not certain to run.

Trainer Richard Hannon said he is unlikely to risk his colt on rain-soaked ground after he lost his unbeaten record on soft at Doncaster last September.

Bookies are also going 6-4 for City Of Troy to win the Derby and 5-1 for him to do the clean sweep and land September’s St Leger too.

The market for the 1000 Guineas on Sunday is wide open, however.

Karl Burke’s Fallen Angel heads the betting at 3-1 with O’Brien’s Ylang Ylang 4-1.

It looked like the Ballydoyle handler would have the top two in the market but Opera Singer was ruled with a setback last month.
