BRACE yourselves wrestling fans as WWE’s Night of Champions has returned to the rota – and all the action will unfold THIS WEEKEND.

It has been eight years since the last event when Seth Rollins defeated Sting to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

And the fan attraction came from the theme of all active main roster belts being put on the line at the event.

This event has come just in time as Head of creative, Triple H unveiled WWE’s first new major title since 2016 which will be the crown jewel of the PPV.

But wrestling lovers will have to wait until after Backlash to see who will be fighting for this prestigious belt.

When is WWE Night of Champions 2023?

WWE Night of Champions 2023 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 27.

The action will get underway from 1pm ET – this is 8pm local in Saudi Arabia.

The Jeddah Superdome is the allocated arena for this tasty event and it can host approximately 35,000 spectators.

This will be the ninth time Saudi host the mouth-watering event with past shows featuring the likes of boxing legend Tyson Fury and wrestling icon Undertaker.

What TV channel is it on can it be live streamed?

WWE Night of Champions will be broadcast LIVE on Peacock in the US – the official streaming partner of WWE

The match card is yet to be confirmed but the new World Heavyweight Championship belt will be fought for in the main event.

What has been said?

WWE head of creative Triple H promised that the return of one wrestling’s fan favourites would change the sport at its very core.

And the wrestling legend explained how fighters will get a chance to win the new WWE belt.

Triple H said: “After Backlash, this Monday night [May 8] on Raw we will begin a World Heavyweight championship tournament. It will be across both brands.

“On Monday Night Raw, there will be two Triple Threat matches with the winners facing each other later that night to determine a winner from Monday Night Raw.

“That Friday [May 12] on SmackDown the same thing will happen. Two Triple Threat matches will take place, those winners will face each other at the end of SmackDown to determine a winner there.

“Those two winners from Raw and SmackDown will then go on to Night of Champions where one of them will be crowned the new World Heavyweight champion.”
