Who is Joseph Parker’s girlfriend Laine Tavita?

Joseph Parker is in a long term relationship with his partner Laine Tavita.

The pair are said to have been together for more than a decade.

They haven’t revealed whether they are married but Parker often refers to Laine as his wife via his social media pages.

Despite Parker being world famous, Laine tends to keep on the down low and keeps her personal life private.

The couple have been together since they were teenagers and initially crossed paths during their high school days at Auckland Marcellin College.

The short answer is, yes, Parker and Laine have children together.

The pair are parents to four daughters, with their first being born in 2016.

Elizabeth Ah-Sue Parker, was born in November 2016, followed by Shiloh Jasmine Parker in 2018.

Michaela Florence Parker was born in 2019, and the youngest, Esme Dianna Anya Parker, was born in May 2022.

When did Joseph Parker start boxing?

Parker was just three when his father said he enjoyed jabbing into his palms and not long after he bought him some gloves and a punching bag.

When he was ten-years-old Parker joined the Papatoetoe Boxing Club to learn more about the sport.

He was trained by Grant Arkell and former boxer Manny Santos.

As an amateur, he represented New Zealand at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, just missing out on qualification to the London Olympics.

Since he went professional, Parker has fought the majority of his bouts on home soil in New Zealand.

Parker currently has a boxing record of 34-3, with 23 won by knockout.

His first win came in 2012 when he fought Dean Garmonsway, with his first loss coming in 2018.

The New Zealander scored a brilliant win in December 2023 when he stunned the boxing world to beat Deontay Wilder.

The defeat cost Wilder the chance of a £100 million super-fight with Anthony Joshua, while Parker put himself straight back into contention for another shot at the heavyweight titles.

When is Joseph Parker’s next fight?

Parker’s next fight will be up against Zheili Zhang on the undercard of the massive clash between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou.

The pair are set to return to the ring to face each other in Saudi Arabia on Friday, March 8.

The two heavyweights are due to head-to-head on a bill which includes Anthony Joshua.

Parker previously lost against Joshua when they went head to head in 2018 in Wales.

Parker will be going into the fight on the back of winning his last three fights since he lost to Joe Joyce in September 2022.

The time of the fight is yet to be confirmed but will be available to watch live on DAZN PPV.
