UFC boss Dana White has claimed his new Power Slap league is already worth 450 MILLION DOLLARS.

The controversial promotion, which sees two competitors slap one another as hard as they can, debuted on TV screens in January.

The new concept has divided opinion among sports fansTikTok/powerslap

It has received a huge backlash due to concerns over the safety of those involved.

And some devastating knockouts have done little to reassure those worried about the concept.

But UFC chief White appears to be profiting greatly from Power Slap.

Speaking on the Rock Sugar Magic podcast, he said: “This thing is a f**king juggernaut. Everybody thought I was full of s**t in the beginning.

“If you take the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, WWE, NASCAR, Formula 1, PGA, and a couple others that I can’t remember, you combine all of their social media numbers together and multiple them by four, Power Slap beats them.

“In nine months I have an unbelievable amount of sponsors.

“I haven’t said this publicly yet to anybody, this is a 450 million dollar business in nine months.”

White’s claim contradicts the social media numbers and TV viewership figures widely reported.

Power Slap has put on five events in 2023 and remains a somewhat niche promotion.

Responding to safety concerns earlier this year, White told Nina-Marie Daniele: “We spend the money to make sure we have two healthy people in there before the fight, but in slap, they take three to five slaps per event.

“Fighters in boxing take three to four hundred punches a fight. It’s un-education or pure hate.”
