Tyson Fury slapped with boxing suspension after brutal defeat to Oleksandr Usyk
TYSON FURY has been slapped with a boxing BAN after his brutal defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
The 35-year-old Morecambe giant lost his WBC heavyweight world title to the new undisputed boss in Riyadh on a split decision.

In round eight it looked like 37-year-old Usyk broke Fury’s nose with a howitzer on the hooter.
And in round nine he connected with a life-changing left hand that shook Fury to his core, bounced him around the ring and eventually earned him a standing count.
So fans were shocked to see the United Arab Emirates Commission – the neutral body that oversaw the bout – hand Usyk a 14-day medical suspension.
Following a post-fight medical exam, Usyk was ruled out of action until June 2, with Fury promoter Frank Warren revealing he suffered an impacted tooth implant.
But Brit hero Fury – who boxes under a Nevada licence – was handed an even shorter order and can box in the region again from May 25.
The undercard bouts took place under the auspices of the British Boxing Board of Control and SunSport understands they have no knowledge of Usyk’s brief ban and the decision was not taken by any of their doctors in attendance.
And the same is said of the decision to suspend Fury, which only came to light on Friday.
In 2021 when Fury settled the iconic Deontay Wilder trilogy with a magnificent round 11 knockout, he was handed a 45-day ban by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The medical bans retrospectively will not impact either man as they look to take a well-earned and needed rest following their thriller.
But a rematch is already looming as per the clause included in the contract both signed.
The rerun is being proposed for October back in Saudi after Warren revealed Fury’s intent to invoke the rematch clause.
