DAVID DE GEA has dropped a major hint he is ready to return to football, with Premier League giants Newcastle keen on the Spaniard, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly looking at transfer alternatives for Ivan Toney in January, with the £80m-rated striker said to be closer to a move to Arsenal.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah has been backed to stay at Liverpool despite speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia in January.

It was reported that the Liverpool forward was the subject of a £200million bid from the Gulf state in the summer.

Salah stayed put, though rumours are expected to intensify in the coming weeks. But former team-mate Fabinho says he thinks the Egyptian will stay on Merseyside.
