NFL great Tom Brady has announced his retirement from football in a tearful farewell.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner, 45, has called time on his illustrious career after a turbulent year.

Brady spent 23 seasons in the league, winning six of his rings with the New England Patriots.

He left for Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and won a further Super Bowl that season.

Brady had initially retired in 2022 before U-turning on the decision weeks later.

He announced the news in a heartfelt online message.

The GOAT divorced from Gisele Bundchen in October after thirteen years of marriage.

While his Tampa Bay side fell short of another Super Bowl visit after defeat in the NFL playoffs.
