TONY MOWBRAY is reportedly fighting to save his Sunderland job.

That’s after the Black Cats crashed out of the Championship play-offs last night.

Mowbray led his side to sixth place in the table on the final day, setting up a semi-final tie against Luton.

But the Black Cats crashed to a 2-0 defeat at Kenilworth Road last night, exiting the playoffs 3-2 on aggregate.

And talkSPORT claims Sunderland chiefs are now preparing to wield the axe after missing out on a place at Wembley against either Middlesbrough or Coventry.
