Stephen A Smith breaks out into a dance during First Take cold open as fans joke he’s ‘had his coffee this morning’

FIRST Take cohost Stephen A Smith was fired up about the NBA Finals heading to South Beach. 

The 55-year-old ESPN star personality kicked off Tuesday’s episode overjoyed with emotions about the Miami Heat advancing to the finals.

ESPN basketball analyst J.J Redick and Tim Legler surrounded Stephen A as he excitedly danced around.

“I didn’t know we were going to end up in South Beach. I didn’t know,” as he laughed.

“I was nervous Miami had to go back to Boston, and they wouldn’t survive. But they did y’all.”

The Miami Heat knocked off the Boston Celtics in seven games and did so with having to return to Boston to handle the job.

The Heat blew the Celtics out 103-84 to advance to the NBA finals, and Stephen A expressed his excitement to return to the city. 

“You not just going there for basketball. It’s not just about the NBA Finals.”

“It’s not just about who is shooting hoops. It’s also about this, Miami, Miami,” as Smith proceeds to salsa dance.

Fans couldn’t help but catch Stephen A’s energy and called it out on social media. 

One fan said: “You definitely had your coffee this morning @ stephenasmith.”

Another expressed: “That’s all he cared about”

A third stated: “Stephen A is box office. Haha”

And a fourth: “Stephen A is pretty excited about a Miami trip for the Finals!”

The Miami Heat will have to face two-time league MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
