SON HEUNG-MIN spoke of his “devastation” after South Korea were humbled by Jordan in the Asia Cup semi-finals.

South Korea were tournament favourites but failed to have a single shot as Jordan – ranked 87th in the world, 64 places below their opponents – ran out 2-0 winners.

It means Son should be back in time for Tottenham’s hosting of Brighton on Saturday.

Compatriot Hwang Hee-Chan should be available the same day for Wolves vs Brentford.

Spurs skipper Son, 31, said: “I’m devastated about this result.

“Jordan are having an amazing journey this tournament, it’s incredible and they deserve it.

“They’re fighting until the end and it’s very disappointing for us.”

Jordan reached the final for the first time ever thanks to second-half strikes from Yazan Al-Naimat and Musa Al-Taamari in Qatar.

It cranked up the heat on South Korea boss Jurgen Klinsmann who has copped flak for his style of play.

Yet when asked if he will quit following the disappointment, the Spurs legend replied: “I am not planning to do anything.

“I plan to analyse this tournament and talk to the (South Korean) federation about what was good and not so good.”

Some South Korean fans accused Klinsmann of smiling when he greeted his opposite number at full-time, but the 59-year-old said: “I am disappointed, I am angry.

“We did not exist in the first 20-30 minutes (of the game).”
