Snooker star Mark Williams caught up in magnitude 5.7 earthquake but fans left scratching their heads at bizarre hashtag
SNOOKER star Mark Williams has revealed he was caught up in a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The 48-year-old has spent the last few days in Sarajevo watching his 11-year-old son, Joel, compete.

However, his trip was interrupted by an earthquake.
Williams took to X to write: “Woke up by a earthquake 5.7 on the scale. First time i been thrown about in the bedroom fir a while #firsttineearygwaukedudntknowatwasgsopenjingv.”
While many fans were quick to share concern, some were left baffled by his choice of hashtag.
One person joked: “Did you type this during a seismic wave Mark?”
While another quipped: “Must have wrote that hashtag during it Mark?”
But a third person wrote: “Translation ‘Woke up by an earthquake 5.7 on the Richter scale. First time I’ve been thrown about in the bedroom for a while. #FirstTimeEarthquakeDidntKnowWhatWasHapppening’.”
Williams’ son, Joel, went viral earlier this week with many snooker fans praising his potting skills.
Joel was playing in the Under-16’s category despite being aged just 11.

He narrowly lost to Jenson Schmid at the European Snooker Championship earlier this week.
Williams Sr has been active on the pro circuit since 1992.
His most successful season came in 2002-03 when he won the Triple Crown – the UK Championship, the Masters and the World Championship.
