That’s after making a stunning return to the Premier League with relegation battlers Leeds.

Big Sam, 68, had been out of work after being relegated with West Brom two years ago.

Allardyce was drafted in by Leeds as a replacement for Javi Gracia, who only lasted two months in the role.

Leeds are currently 17th in the table after a dismal run.

And they must get results against Man City, Newcastle, West Ham and Spurs to stand a chance of staying up.

Allardyce is no stranger to a dogfight, having guided the likes of Sunderland Crystal Palace to safety.

And he believes his experience makes him at least on a level with the league’s top managers like City boss Guardiola, Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta.

Allardyce said: “Far too many people think I am old and antiquated, which is so far from the truth.

“I might be 68 and look old but there’s nobody ahead of me in football terms.

“Not Pep, not Klopp, not Arteta. It’s all there with me. They do what they do, I do what I do.

“But in terms of knowledge and depth of knowledge, I’m up there with them.

“I’m not saying I’m better than them, but certainly as good as they are.”

When asked about taking the Leeds job on a long-term basis, Allardyce added: “Never say never.

“It depends what happens at the end of the four matches, what the conversation is all about and how I feel.

“And more importantly how the wife feels!”
