REVEALED: Why Iddrisu Mallorca midfielder Iddrisu Baba did not honour Ghana call-up for Afcon qualifiers

Real Mallorca midfielder Iddrisu Baba did not show up for Black Stars Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers because of an agreement between the club and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).The holding midfielder was named in Akonnors squad for the games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe this month.However, Mallorca and GFA reached an agreement so that he does not join the team due to Covid-19 rules in Spain.Baba would be obliged to quarantine on his return from the international assignment.The absence of Baba would have affected Mallorca, whoare chasing promotion back to the Spanish La Liga after being relegated last season.They are currently top of the Segunda table but with as many as 11 games to go.Baba has recovered from a slow start to become a key player in the team, making 17 league appearances.
