Philadelphia Eagles player Josh Sills accused of rape and kidnapping just days before team heads to Super Bowl LVII

A PHILADELPHIA Eagles player has been indicted on alleged rape and kidnapping charges.

Josh Sills, 25, was indicted on two first-degree felonies in Ohio.

APSills’ indictment comes from an alleged incident in December 2019[/caption]

According to the indictment from December 2019, Sills “engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will”.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced that the incident was immediately reported and an investigation from the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office followed.

The offensive lineman joined the Eagles this year and played one game in his rookie season.

Philadelphia are preparing to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl next Sunday.

Sills has been issued a summons to appear at court on February 16 – four days after the game.

He was born in Sarahsville, Ohio and played college football at Oklahoma State.

Sills’s only appearance in the 2022 season was in week five against the Arizona Cardinals.

He is the backup guard on the offensive line behind Isaac Seumalo and plays special teams, too.

Philadelphia reached the Super Bowl after dominating the San Francisco 49ers at the weekend.

The Eagles won the NFC Championship Game 31-7 in front of their raucous home fans.

And they’ll head to Arizona next week to take on the Chiefs at State Farm Stadium.

Philly are looking for a second Super Bowl in five years having beaten the New England Patriots in Minneapolis in 2018.
