Wilson hasn’t played since he suffered a pectoral injury against Nottingham Forest in February.

He was spotted arriving with Eddie Howe‘s side before the squad was announced.

Speaking ahead of the match, Newcastle boss Howe said: “He’s trained very well this week.

“It’s been very good to have him back with the energy he brings and the quality he brings.

“He’s been able to focus on his legs and his running during the period he’s been out so he’s come back looking really good.

“Hopefully, he’ll be able to hit the ground running and make an impact for us.”

Wilson has been limited to 22 appearances so far this season due to a series of injury issues.

The striker suffered two hamstring issues and a calf injury earlier in the season.
