SAM ALLARDYCE was forced to halt his first press conference as Leeds boss.

That’s after a journalist’s phone went off, prompting Big Sam to dish out his first fine.

Sam Allardyce has handed out his first fine as Leeds boss… to a journalistPA

Allardyce, 68, is back in the Premier League after a two-year absence.

Football’s iconic tactician has been tasked with saving Leeds from the drop.

The Elland Road side are in 17th place after a dismal run, leading to Javi Gracia’s dismissal.

And Allardyce knows he needs to find results against Man City, Newcastle, West Ham and Spurs to keep Leeds in the top flight.

Big Sam is certainly feeling confident after saving the likes of Sunderland and Crystal Palace in previous seasons.

Indeed, he reckons he is ahead of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp in “football terms.”

And Allardyce showed he will not be taking any prisoners after a reporter’s embarrassing gaffe in Wednesday’s presser.

Without missing a beat, he said: “That’s a fine, by the way. 10 quid to charity.”

The journalist then agreed to donate a tenner to the Leeds United foundation, receiving thanks from Allardyce in the process.

Big Sam is only contracted to Leeds until the end of the season.

But when asked about taking the job on a long-term basis, he replied: “Never say never.

“It depends what happens at the end of the four matches, what the conversation is all about and how I feel.

“And more importantly how the wife feels!”
