Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso was on the FC Nania bench as coach as they suffered a narrow defeat to high flying Accra Lions in Zone Three of the Division One league on Monday. The player who is currently unattached following the collapse of Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning seems to have started his coaching career already as he led a club for the first time in the Division One League.Wakaso was named on the official team list as coach of FC Nania, although there is no news confirming him as gaffer from the club.Despite being a novice in coaching, the 30-year-olds touchline mannerisms showed passion and his confidence in leading a football club. After a poor first half from his team, the ex-Deportivo Alaves and Villarreal player made some changes to his team which saw them produce an improved performance to halve the deficit.Accra Lions, leaders of the Zone netted two goals in the first half through forward Rauf Salifu and midfielder Evans Ampofo. An excellent team play from Nania saw Jonas Naafos well executed cross from the right met by Bismarck Asante to make it 2-1.It is yet to be known if Wakaso will be hanging his boot to start his coaching job right away or he will find a team to return to active football. However, he is part of coach C.K Akonnors 24-man squad named for preparations ahead of the AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and So Tom.By Lukman Abdul Mumin/ @LukmanEvergreen
