Mohammed Kudus beats Joseph Amoah for Sports Personality at SWAG Awards

Joseph Paul Amoah has lost the 2022 Sports Personality to Mohammed Kudus when the winner was announced at the SWAG Awards.

The young athlete rather took home the Male Athlete of the Year award during the 2022 SWAG awards.

Joe won Ghana’s first medal since 1974 Commonwealth Games. He won bronze in the 200m race during 2022 Commons Games held in Birmingham, UK.

Long Jumper Déborah Acquah àlso won the Female Athlete of the year.

Ajax and Black Stars playmaker Mohammed Kudus was the main man of the night after claiming the key award.

His exploits for club and country also saw him take home footballer of the year.

Hearts of Oaks’ Daniel Afriyie Barnieh also won the home based Footballer of the Year after his remarkable performance in the Ghana Premier League and National teams.

The Female Footballer of the year also went to Ophelia Amponsah of Ampem Darko Ladies.

Her club were also given the club of the Year award.

In other disciplines, Abraham Mensah was also crowned Amateur Boxer of the Year. The young boxer won the silver for Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games; Bantam Weight Division.

Samuel Osei Antwi also won the Tennis Player of the Year.

The 2022 SWAG Awards took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday night.
