Richard Hughes is also set to join Liverpool as technical director after he leaves Bournemouth at the end of the season.

The reshuffle will also include Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan, who has been named CEO of FSG International.

He will work on the rapidly-expanding FSG portfolio that also includes the Boston Red Sox, the Pittsburgh Pengiuns, RFK Racing and the company’s real estate and sports management divisions.

So while Hogan will remain at Anfield, he will hand over the football side to Edwards who clashed with Klopp towards the end of his first spell.
