MANCHESTER UNITED want Dan Ashworth from Newcastle as their new director of football once Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover goes through, SunSport can reveal.
Former England, Brighton and current Newcastle sporting director, Ashworth, 52, is hugely respected in the English game.
Meanwhile, United have agreed a loan deal with Eintracht Frankfurt for Donny Van de Beek.
And there remains interest in Serhou Guirassy, who also plays for Frankfurt.
