Man Utd star Anthony Elanga one of two players lined up by Everton as Anthony Gordon transfer replacement

EVERTON have reportedly identified Man Utd forward Anthony Elanga as one of two potential replacements for Anthony Gordon.

Gordon, 21, left Goodison Park to join Newcastle for £45million on Sunday.

It leaves Everton even more depleted in attack as they look to climb out of the relegation zone under new manager Sean Dyche.

According to The Athletic, the Toffees have two players on their radar as they search for a new signing before Tuesday’s deadline.

One of them is Man Utd man Elanga, 20, who would join the Merseyside outfit on loan until the end of the campaign.

Elanga has started just seven games under Erik ten Hag so far this season.

And he could temporarily depart Old Trafford in pursuit of more minutes.

The Sweden international has been linked with a move to PSV where he would play under Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.

However, United are low on attacking options and, with little time left in the window, the club are unlikely to let Elanga leave.

Everton’s other possible replacement for Gordon is Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The Toffees made a verbal offer for the Ghanaian international on Sunday and are waiting to hear back from the Ligue 1 outfit.

But Everton face competition for Sulemana, with Southampton and Bournemouth both interested.

Saints have already seen a £17.5m bid rejected for the winger – who is under contract until 2026.

Rennes are thought to want around £26m for the 20-year-old.

Sulemana joined the French side from Danish club Nordsjaelland for £13m in 2021.

He has contributed six goals and four assists in 47 appearances for Rennes.
