ALLY MCCOIST has told Manchester United to take advice from Luton to beat Bayern Munich – and urged the players to follow “old school” Scott McTominay.
The Red Devils face a must win clash against the German giants on Tuesday night to keep their Champions League campaign alive.

Defeat will knock them out of Europe entirely, while they need a draw in the Copenhagen v Galatasaray clash to progress into the knockout rounds even if they win.
But McCoist believes there is a path to victory that McTominay can lead Erik ten Hag‘s side down.
Speaking to SunSport with TNT Sports, the exclusive home of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League, McCoist said: “With where Man Utd are right now, McTominay is a key part of Man Utd.
“The way he plays the game, the goals he’s been chipping in with, he’s a hardworking boy that appreciates where he is and relishes the fact he’s playing at Man Utd.
“He runs about, he gets on the end of things. I think he had six good attempts at goal against Chelsea… that’s just a desire to run about and get into the box.
“The biggest compliment I can pay to someone like McTominay is I think he’s a throwback. And when I say throwback, I mean old school.
“The manager could give him a jersey, he wouldn’t even look at the number and he’ll say right where do you want me to play and there’s something refreshing about that – someone that just wants to play for his club and country.”
McTominay’s box-crashing exploits were plain to see against Chelsea, with two goals coming from his runs into the area.

But something far more basic is what will lead to Man Utd beating Harry Kane and Co, and Ten Hag need only look at Luton to see what it is.
McCoist said: “First thing the manager’s got to do is start with tempo like they did against Chelsea.
“They conceded a goal (against Bournemouth) after five minutes, six minutes.
“I thought against Chelsea it was a different kind of approach.
“They came out, they got in people’s faces and there was an aggression that was miles away from the Saturday before at Newcastle.
“I know it’s relatively straight forward and now I’m talking about Luton – but the one thing that strikes me about them is they run about.
“They’re aggressive, they close people down and they’re in your face because they’ve got to do something different to challenge your Liverpools because if they play them at football they’ll lose.”
“Against Bayern Munich, who might be technically better, they have to do something different to win the game and they have to try and get them out of their comfort zone.”
