Man Utd desperate not to lose Marcus Rashford and will activate contract clause by January if they cannot agree new deal
MANCHESTER UNITED will trigger a 12-month extension in Marcus Rashford’s contract if they cannot agree a new deal by January, according to reports.
The 25-year-old‘s current deal with the Red Devils is set to expire in the summer.

This means he is free to begin talks with non-English clubs from the turn of the year.
Rashford’s representatives met with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but a move never seemed close to being done.
And United boss Erik ten Hag is now keen to keep him at the club as he sees the England man as integral to his plans.
According to The Mail, this means United will look to trigger the one-year extension written into Rashford’s £200,000-a-week contract.

The club are not confident of tying him down to a new contract before January, particularly given the World Cup is on the horizon.
As a result, it is believed they will utilise a clause to further his existing deal by 12 months, giving them time to negotiate a new deal.
Rashford has shown a return to form so far this season as Ten Hag has put faith in him to lead the line for United ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has contributed seven goals and three assists in 15 appearances.

His 100th goal for the club came on Sunday as the Red Devils beat West Ham 1-0 at Old Trafford.
And the forward, who has been with United since he was seven, praised Ten Hag’s impact on the team morale.
He said: “When you are playing in a team sport, you want the players to be together.
“The energy is more positive within the whole team and at the training ground, that is the biggest thing.
“It is stuff he [Ten Hag] mentioned as soon as he came in.”
