Luke Littler belts out darts anthem with fans before stunned ace is forced off oche for hilarious gaffe vs Aspinall

LUKE LITTLER got carried away when he was preparing for his match with Nathan Aspinall on Thursday night.

The pair met in the semi-final of night seven of the Premier League in Nottingham after Littler had demolished Michael van Gerwen in his quarter-final opener.

Littler was still riding high from his crushing of MVG and up against a mate in Aspinall he appeared to forget his place in proceedings while playing up to the crowd.

The 17-year-old lost himself in Aspinall’s iconic walk-out, music ‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers, and could be seen singing along while the crowd chanted it back to him.

But after giving his best Brandon Flowers impersonation he forgot he was throwing second and stepped up to the oche to begin the match.

The teen sensation was quickly reminded that it was Aspinall who would be taking aim at the cork first and hilariously did a 180 degree spin to head back to the crowd and await his turn.

Fans loved the awkward moment and took to social media to share their reactions.

One wrote: “He’s very likeable isn’t he, no matter how hard some people might try not to.”

While another added: “Absolute love this kid – makes me smile every time I watch him play.”

And a third simply posted: “Never change lad.”

Unfortunately the match-up ended about as quickly as Littler’s karaoke as Aspinall’s experience got the better of the rising star in a 6-3 victory.

It’s the first time Aspinall has beaten Littler with the youngster winning their two previous clashes this year.

But Littler’s training partner couldn’t go all the way as he suffered a loss of his own in Thursday’s final at the hands of Cool Hands Luke Humphries.

The world number one showed why he’s the reining world champion by cooly breezing to a second consecutive Premier League night victory thanks to a 6-3 win over Aspinall.

And the 29-year-old has credited his girlfriend Kayley for his recent success for letting him SLEEP IN.

He said: “Credit to my girlfriend. She could easily have me up at 6am, looking after my son who wakes up at that time. But she allows me to sleep in.

“She understands the importance of rest. If she wanted me to get up at those times, I’d do it.

“But she’s the most supportive woman in the world towards me. I give a lot of credit to her.

“She allows me to come home from darts and have that rest time I need. Whereas a normal dad may get up at 6am for the kids.”
