Curtis Jones tucked home a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross to give the home side the lead in the third minute.

And moments later the Reds doubled their advantage when Luis Diaz converted a Cody Gakpo pullback.

It was three before the 15-minute mark as Cristian Romero fouled Cody Gakpo in the area and Mo Salah tucked away the penalty.

Spurs pulled one back shortly before the break when Harry Kane fired Ivan Perisic’s cross beyond Alisson.

And the visitor’s had real hope of getting something out the game when Son Heung-min latched onto a through ball to reduce the deficit further.

Liverpool held out until the third minute of stoppage time when Richarlison’s header down into the ground looped over Alisson.

But the drama did not end there as Diogo Jota was played in by a horror backpass from Lucas Moura and the Liverpool man rifled home to win an unbelievable game 4-3.
