Laura Woods left shocked as Jamie O’Hara makes bold claim about Tottenham and Harry Kane

TOTTENHAM could face a relegation battle next season if they sell Harry Kane this summer, according to former midfielder Jamie O’Hara.

Kane, 29, has been heavily linked with a move away from north London in recent months.

And with his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in doubt, O’Hara believes Spurs will suffer in the absence of their all-time top goalscorer.

When speaking to Laura Woods on the TalkSPORT breakfast show, the 36-year-old admitted that he fears the Lilywhites will face relegation if Kane leaves.

He said: “Well look, obviously we all hope that he sticks around and signs a new contract.

“Because Laura, without Harry Kane, I seriously think we could be fighting relegation next season.”

In astonishment, Woods simply replied: “no” before the pundit continued his rant.

O’Hara added: “We are that bad without him.

“We have been solely dependent on Harry Kane to score us goals and do stuff for us.

“And I think the lack of ambition that we’ve shown and the players that we’ve signed that haven’t been good enough, if he leaves, we are in big, big, trouble.

“And I feel like he’s got to leave, why would he stay? The guy wants to win something, the guy deserves to win trophies. I just don’t see that changing next season.”

Although O’Hara remains hopeful that Kane will choose to stay, he believes that the striker “lacks ambition” if he pens a new deal.

He added: “If he doesn’t leave, he lacks ambition doesn’t he? Let’s be honest.

“If he doesn’t leave and a club does come in for him and Spurs go, ‘you know what, we will probably look at having to sell you.’

“And he doesn’t go to let’s say Manchester United, then I think he lacks ambition.”

Kane is about to enter the final year of his contract, meaning he could become a free agent at the end of next season if Tottenham refuse to sell him this summer

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly eager to lure the striker to Old Trafford.

However, Spurs chief Daniel Levy is demanding £100m for his star player.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also understood to be interested in signing Kane.
