TOTTENHAM are on the trail of Juventus’ English whizkid Samuel Iling-Junior.

The England Under-21 winger, 20, came through the academy at Chelsea but then moved to the Old Lady in Italy in 2020.

But he has made just one Serie A start in that time and only four substitute appearances in all competitions this term.

With only 18 months left on his contract, Juve are weighing up whether to cash in on the Islington-born ace next month.

Spurs are monitoring the situation, though strengthening the centre-back positions remains their priority in January.

This could allow the likes of Newcastle and Brighton to steal a march on signing the winger.

The Premier League duo have both been tipped with moves for the Englishman.

Manager Ange Postcoglou has seen his options at the back shrink during the season.

Summer signing Micky van de Ven suffered an injury that is likely to keep him out for the rest of the year.

Christian Romero has also missed a handful of matches due to suspension.

Technical coach Saul Isaksson-Hurst has worked with the winger as well as the likes of Folarin Balogun and Noni Madueke.

He has helped the players improve on “key areas” and “game-changing moments”.

He said: “I bring something different, I am an individual specialist and have been doing this for 20 years.

“I am a technical coach, not a performance or fitness coach. I create practices that help players focus on improving those key areas and game-changing moments.

“On an individual basis, I am able to give them something more focused than what they might get at their club.”

Meanwhile, Juventus had been linked with a January swoop for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.

However, they appear to have backed out of a move for the winger.
