LEGENDARY horse trainer Aidan O’Brien has given a revealing peek into his private life and claimed: “I’m probably a very weird person.”

The Ballydoyle boss has won all there is to win in Flat racing and even had a Cheltenham Festival legend in three-time Champion Hurdle hero Istabraq.

But the 54-year-old dad-of-four says paying such constant attention to his craft takes it toll even when he’s on holiday.

O’Brien says he finds it impossible to relax when he is away from his superstar squad of horses, including next year’s Derby favourite City Of Troy.

Speaking in Hong Kong, the genius trainer said: “I’m probably a very weird person in that if you take me away I get stressed

“I find holidays stressful but that’s just the way I’m made.

“I’ve always love working with horses and people – looking at horses and listening to people.

“If I go away for a week or any more than that I do get anxious.

“I’m probably very weird that way, I’m sorry, but that’s just the way I’m made up.

“I’m like everybody, I watch all the sports on TV when I have time in the evening.

“When the season gets going any time you have you put it into sleeping

“If you don’t sleep you get tired and anxious – if you do sleep, you’ll hopefully survive!”

O’Brien had another sensational season, winning almost £6.5million in Great Britain alone from just 122 runs.

This included globetrotting Derby hero Auguste Rodin, amazing colt City Of Troy, St Leger star Continuous and serial winner Paddington.

And it looks like next season could be even better.

O’Brien currently has the ante-post favourite for all the Classics courtesy of City Of Troy and filly Opera Singer.
