Iheanacho, Ndidi Believes In One Nigeria – Dosu Reacts To National Flag Display

The act of displaying the Nigerian National flag by two Super Eagles and Leicester City’s star, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho after their FA Cup trophy win has been commended by Joseph Dosu.

Naija News reports that the 2021 FA Cup Final contested between two English Premier League club, Chelsea and Leicester City was played at the Wembley Stadium in London, England, on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

The match was won by four-time runners-up Leicester City after beating Chelsea to 1–0 to lift their first FA Cup title.

Speaking with The PUNCH in an interview moments after the victory by Leicester, Dosu who’s an Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medal winner and a former Regianna goalkeeper, said that it was great seeing Iheanacho and Ndidi with the nation’s flag.

According to him, the act by the two players shows a sense of unity even while some people want to divide
the nation.

“I was very happy seeing Ndidi and Iheanacho holding Nigeria’s flag while celebrating their win over Chelsea,” Dosu stated.

He added: “This shows that they have faith in the unity of the nation.

“Some people are bent on having a divided Nigeria, but these young guys have shown a good example that all we need is a unified nation.”

Naija News understands that Iheanacho and Ndidi have now joined the list of Nigerian players –Daniel Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, Nwankwo Kanu, John Utaka, Victor Moses and Mikel Obi –who have won the English FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles star who plays as a forward for Nigerian club Kano Pillars, Ahmed Musa has led his club side to victory against Adamawa United.

Naija News reports that Musa who joined pillars a few months ago was handed the club’s captain band out of respect by Rabiu Ali who is the club’s main captain, to challenge Adamawa United in their clash at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday.
