Injury means Lloris is a major doubt for the remainder of the campaign, according to the Evening Standard.

And with uncertainty over his future, it is reportedly possible that the Frenchman has played his last ever game for the club.

Lloris still has a year left to run on his Spurs contract, but the Standard say he could look for a new club in the summer, with the club set to search for a new No1 between the sticks.

Spurs have been linked with the likes of Everton star Jordan Pickford, Manchester United stopper Dean Henderson, and Napoli goalie Alex Meret.

Lloris, 38, was forced off at half-time in the 6-1 thumping at Newcastle with a thigh injury.

He missed the 2-2 draw against Manchester United, the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, and has also been ruled out of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace.

Fraser Forster has deputised in goal in Lloris’ absence.

There are just three more games left to play before the end of the season following tomorrow’s game against the Eagles.

That raises the possibility that Lloris’ last game for Spurs could be the embarrassing defeat at St. James’ Park.

The 2018 World Cup winning goalkeeper joined Spurs from French club Lyon way back in 2012.

A great servant to the club, Lloris has played 447 games for Spurs, and was named captain by Mauricio Pochettino in 2015.
