Earlier this week it was reported that Arsenal were sweating on the fitness of key man Thomas Partey.

He played in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Angola last Thursday but sat out of Monday’s game against the same nation with a fitness issue.

Ghana boss Chris Hughton said: “Thomas has a small injury issue and we felt it was too big of a risk to start him.”

However, the 29-year-old DID train for Arsenal on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash.

And SunSport understands the Gunners are optimistic that Partey will be able to feature against Leeds.

The midfielder has been integral to the Gunners’ success this season, playing 30 times in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders.

Arsenal’s full squad returned to London Colney on Thursday following the international break.

Elsewhere, it remains to be seen if William Saliba will be fit enough to play.

The defender, who has been another key man for Arteta this campaign, pulled out of the France squad with a back injury.

Saliba limped off in the Europa League defeat to Sporting Lisbon earlier this month and missed the win over Crystal Palace.

And the 21-year-old was absent for Thursday’s training session at London Colney.

It’s unclear whether he will play against Leeds on Saturday, according to the Evening Standard.

The Gunners are currently eight points clear of title rivals Manchester City at the top of the Prem, having played a game more than the Etihad outfit.
