Huge EFL match postponed with fans ‘just ten minutes from ground’ as supporters slam pathetic footie chiefs

THE League Two clash between Wallsall and Morecambe has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Some fans had already begun their journeys to the stadium when the announcement was made.

Groundsmen were left sweeping the rain off the field in a desperate attempt to get the game on.

But following an inspection from the ref, a decision was made to postpone the fixture.

Supporters were left unhappy with the late timing of the decision as one raged: “Pathetic calling the game off when fans are ten mins from the ground.”

More reacted: “Terrible communication tonight – do better.”

Another added: “Shocking from Walsall only announcing an inspection at 6:15.”
