Harry Kane huge doubt for England clash with Brazil with three more Three Lions stars set to miss sell-out friendly

HARRY KANE hopes to face Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday even if he is not fit for Saturday’s clash with Brazil.

The England captain has missed training this week after injuring his ankle by colliding with a post in Bayern Munich’s 5-2 win at Darmstadt on Saturday.

Kane is now a huge doubt for the sell-out friendly against the Brazilians but potentially, could still be in action back at Wembley on Tuesday.

The Bayern striker, who has struck 41 times for club and country this season, will be desperately disappointed if he misses out on tomorrow’s prestige friendly, Brazil’s first game here in seven years.

But that will give an opportunity to either Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney who could start as the central striker.

Jordan Henderson, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer are also doubts after missing training this week.

Keeper Jordan Pickford, meanwhile, reckons he is not bothered about the uncertainty over Gareth Southgate’s future.

Southgate’s contract runs out at the end of this year but he could stay on if England win Euro 2024.

Speaking to 5Live, Pickford said: “I think there’s one goal and that’s to win a European trophy.

“Us as players, and I think the manager and the staff, that’s all our goal is, to be focused on winning the European Championship. I think all the noise around anything else will probably come after that.”

Southgate has been linked with a return to club football after the Euros, which will be his fourth major tournament with the Three Lions.

Manchester United are a potential destination for the former Middlesbrough boss if they part ways with Erik ten Hag this summer.

England will play two more warm-up matches after this month’s friendlies before their opening match of the tournament.

Bosnia and Herzegovina face the Three Lions at St James’ Park on June 3 ahead of a clash against Iceland at Wembley four days later.

Southgate’s side will then take on Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on June 16 in their opening group game.
