Ghana secure important three points as Cameroon draw -World Cup 2022
Ghana has secured a lifeline in the 2022 FIFA World Cup after beating South Korea. They won 3-2 after a hard-fought game at the Education Stadium in Qatar.
the Black Stars were able to sustain all three points in the Group H with a fantastic performance from Ajax’s Abdul Kudus. This becomes Africa’s third win after Senegal and Morocco won their second-round matches.
Kudus scored twice to ensure his side stayed in Qatar to fight for a place at the knockout stage. Ghana scored first two goals in the first half. Defender Salisu Mohammed connected his head to a freekick to get Ghana ahead.
Kudus added the second goal through a header after 10 mins.
In the second half, Korea improved their attacking options and that was when they were able to equalize all two goals.
The Black Stars would have to beat Uruguay in their last group game to ensure qualification into the knockout stages.
Before Ghana’s game, their African neighbours, Cameroon drew with Serbia. This was another thrilling game as it ended 3-3.
This leave Cameroon with just a point and would have to dig deep to qualify. The Indomitable Lions will meet Brazil who already have 6 points.
