GHANA IS THE LOWEST AFRICAN TEAM FOR THE WORLD CUP AS ARGENTINA LEADS RANKING

Ghana has been placed in the last six groupings for the ranking of teams ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The World Cup is set to take place in Qatar later this year. The Black Stars is the lowest ranked African team ahead of the FIFA Mundial.

32 teams have been put in various groups to compete for the most prestigious trophy in World Football. The quadrilinear event will take place from November to December.

Ghana’s Black Stars have been placed 27th in the ranking for teams participating at the World Cup. The survey was done and reported by British media house, The Guardian.

The Stars have been put in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay and Korea. The latter are the lowest ranked side in the Group as Portugal lead the pack. The Koreans are positioned at 28th with the Navigators are ranked 9th with Uruguay placed at 12th position.

Meanwhile Argentina lead the rankings followed by their rivals Brazil. The Albiceleste have played over 3o matches without a defeat. They recently won the COMEBOL – UEFA Cup of Champions against Italy.

Spain follows at third position followed by fellow European sides; Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark and Belgium in that order. England completes the first ten teams.

Africa has five countries to compete at the FIFA Mundial. Senegal is the best ranked African side on 11th position. Morocco is second best team but ranked at 21st. Cameroon follows at 22nd position. The penultimate team for Africa is Tunisia at number 24.

The lowest ranked side ahead of the World Cup is Saudi Arabia from the Asian Football Association. Their best placed team is Iran at 23rd position.
