Evans, 33, was upset with the chair umpire for a foot fault called against him in the second set on Court 7.
It was his 15th defeat in 23 matches this year and he received a code violation for slamming a Perrier container at his chair in anger.
Likely to be punished for thousands of pounds, the world No25 said: “Once again, the players are held responsible but the umpires and line judges are not held responsible.
“I’ll be getting fined, obviously, for breaking the water bottle. We’ll just go through the same cycle again.
“If they’re going to call that foot fault, it shouldn’t be from 35 meters away, from fence to fence through a net.
“I have got to get on and try and get my game in a good spot.
“It’s shocking right now. It’s not good enough.
“There will be plenty of soul-searching wherever I am.”
