Forgotten Premier League star wakes up unemployed at 37 as he’s released by EFL club days after Wembley heartbreak
FORMER Premier League star Cameron Jerome has woken up unemployed after being released by Bolton Wanderers.
The 37-year-old striker scored four goals in 55 games for the League One side, who suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Oxford United in Saturday’s play-off final.

And his contract will not be renewed for the next campaign, making him a free agent.
Fellow forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has also been released by Bolton.
While Declan John will be let go after his loan at Salford City.
Bolton’s five loanees will also return to their parent clubs, with Paris Maghoma, Nathanael Ogbeta, Zac Ashworth, Caleb Taylor and Calvin Ramsay all departing.
The Trotters’ decision spells the end of Jerome’s 18-month adventure at the club.
He started his pro career in the Championship with Cardiff in 2004.
And he flitted between the Premier League and England’s second tier during a lengthy spell at Birmingham.
Jerome then became a top-flight regular with Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

Yet he continued to hover between leagues with a move to Norwich in 201r.
Three years later he was back in the Championship with Bolton.
And Jerome later secured a shock move to Turkey’s Super Lig with Goztepe.
He returned to England in 2020 with League One side MK Dons.
Yet Jerome got a reprieve in the Championship with Luton Town before dropping back to League One with Bolton.
He helped them win the EFL Trophy last season, and is now on the hunt for a new team.
