Ex-Barcelona star Gerard Pique ‘sends secret message’ to Shakira with number plate of Twingo he drove to taunt her

FORMER Barcelona star Gerard Pique sent ex-girlfriend Shakira a secret message with the number plate on his Renault Twingo, according to theories online.

Shakira and Pique announced they had split in May last year following unconfirmed claims the footie ace was cheating on his long-term partner with a younger woman.

Retired defender Pique, 35, is now living in a penthouse apartment with his new girlfriend, 23-year-old Clara Chia.

Pique and Shakira reached a custody settlement for their two sons after a 12-hour marathon meeting with lawyers late last year.

And they agreed to sell their five-storey Barcelona property.

But the bitter split took a new twist with Shakira dropping a diss track on her ex-man and his new partner.

Last week, 45-year-old Shakira released a new song which takes a swipe at love rival Clara’s age with the lyrics: “I’m worth two 22s.

“You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo, you traded a Rolex for a Casio.”

A spat involving savage jibes and even a row over a bizarre witch doll have played out in public.

But Pique too could play that game.

And so he turned up to his new seven-a-side Kings League in an £8,000 Renault Twingo.

He also landed a sponsorship deal with Casio — adding that the cheaper watch would “last a lifetime”.

However, theories online suggest Pique went a step further than just turning up to Kings League in a Twingo.

The number plate of the Renault is 2511 MDJ.

And Marca claim it refers to the specific day, 25 November, that the singer left the Barcelona home, which she shared with Pique and his two children.

The Spanish outlet goes on to say that the initials are “alluding to the spite of” Shakira following the split.
