But now they have officially confirmed the link-up as Grealish joins fellow footballers Vinicius Junior, Son Heung-min and Leah Williamson in representing Pepsi.

Speaking about the deal, he said: “I’m buzzing to partner with Pepsi Max as a global brand ambassador.

“Pepsi Max has a great heritage working with the biggest names in world football, and I’m excited to join their mission to unlock enjoyment for football fans around the world and encourage everyone to play the beautiful game!”

Two months ago, Grealish, who won the Treble with Man City last season, was spotted filming an advert for Pepsi in Wembley.

He is set to star in the company’s new ad campaign alongside football hard man Vinnie Jones.

An insider said: “Jack is worth every penny as far as Pepsi are concerned because everything he touches turns to gold.

“It’s a really fun advert, and Jack and Vinnie are following in the footsteps of other big players like David Beckham and Lionel Messi.”

Grealish, who is engaged to model fiancee Sasha Attwood, 27, boasts a net worth of around £20million.

But sponsorship deals with the likes of Puma, Gucci, boohooMAN and now Pepsi could send that figure to above £100m by the time he turns 30.

Meanwhile, on the pitch Grealish has struggled with injuries this season, scoring just three times and assisting another three in 34 appearances.

However, he has impressed more in recent weeks as he looks to avoid being left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships.

Grealish, who has 35 caps and two goals for the Three Lions, has not played for his country since October when he assisted the only goal of the game for Ollie Watkins in a narrow win over Australia.

He faces stiff competition from the likes of Cole Palmer, Anthony Gordon, Phil Foden, Jarrod Bowen and Marcus Rashford.
