DILLIAN WHYTE made his highly-anticipated return to the ring for a St Patrick’s Day boxing bout against Christian Hammer on Sunday night.

But fans were struggling to watch the Body Snatcher’s big comeback with the fight not picked up by ANY TV channel in the UK or Ireland.

With TV cameras seemingly not in the venue in Castlebar on the Irish west coast, Whyte vs Hammer could NOT be streamed online.

That meant anyone who was not at the TF Royal Hotel was unable to watch any of the fight.

It remains to be seen if fight highlights will be posted at a later date by Whyte’s team or the promoter.

The Body Snatcher, 35, won by TKO after Hammer quit on his stool at the end of round 3 – there are reports that the Romanian injured his shoulder.

Fans have now been waiting 18 months to see Whyte in action, after the Body Snatcher was forced to pull out of his August 2023 fight against Anthony Joshua due to a failed drugs test.

The Londoner hasn’t fought since his majority decision triumph over Jermaine Franklin in November 2022.

On March 3, the British star got cleared to resume his boxing career as an investigation found his positive doping test was caused by a contaminated supplement.

When was Whyte vs Hammer?

Dillian Whyte‘s huge return against Christian Hammer took place on Sunday, March 17.

This event took place at the TF Royal Hotel in Castlebar, Ireland, with the chosen venue able to host approximately 4,000 fans.

It is so far unclear how many tickets were sold for the event, although the little social media footage available appeared to show a full house.

Can I watch Whyte vs Hammer?

Fans were left unable to watch the fight on TV or online as no broadcaster picked up the rights.

SunSport understands that the fight was essentially behind-closed-doors, with no live TV feeds available at all.

There have been reports that filming did take place by the promoter and highlights may become available at a later date.

Fans had looking forward to seeing Dillian Whyte step foot in the ring once again after long 16 months but were left disappointed.
